Legacy in a Bottle: Unveiling the Rich Tapestry of GEN 7 Wines' Family History

In the heart of Napa Valley, there exists more than just a winery; there's a living legacy—a testament to tradition, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to craftsmanship. GEN 7 Wines stands not just as a brand but as the culmination of nearly 200 years of family history, weaving through time, culture, and generations.

Our story begins in 1832 when Theophile Vaché embarked on a journey from France to California. This pioneer in the making established one of the earliest vineyards in the Vineyard District of San Benito. Joined later by his nephews, Aldolfe, Emile, and another Theophile, the family forged deeper roots in the wine world, founding a wine-importing business in downtown Los Angeles in 1847.

As the years unfolded, so did the family's journey. In 1892, the nephews settled in Redlands, acquiring land beside a picturesque stream, giving birth to Brookside Winery—a name that resonates with legacy and heritage. The acquisition of Segundo Gusti's expansive vineyards in Rancho Cucamonga in 1852 added depth and breadth to their viticultural pursuits.

Brookside Winery became synonymous with quality and presence, expanding to 36 retail stores across California, Arizona, and Illinois by 1968. However, the winds of change blew, and ownership transitions marked new chapters. Beatrice Foods' acquisition in 1972 led to shifts in the winery's direction until its eventual sale in 1982, leaving the legacy seemingly dormant.

Yet, as the saying goes, the grapevine never forgets its roots. In 2008, the sixth generation of the Vaché and Biane families, embodied by Tim Bacino, felt a spiritual calling—an ancestral whisper urging the resurrection of the family's winemaking tradition. GEN 7 Wines emerged, bearing the name of his daughter, Gabriella, representing the seventh generation of the Vaché family.

The revival wasn't merely a business endeavor but a tribute to heritage, a resurrection of past glories, and a dedication to continuing a saga steeped in passion and knowledge. The journey involved meticulous sourcing from boutique California vineyards, with each grape carefully selected for its exceptional quality and character—a testament to the family's expertise cultivated over generations.

At GEN 7 Wines, tradition meets innovation. Grapes from esteemed AVA regions like Napa Valley, St. Helena, Russian River, Knight's Valley, and more are transformed into exquisite wines. The aging process in French oak barrels for 9 to 21 months adds layers of complexity, culminating in handcrafted, exceptional wines that pay homage to the family's legacy.

But GEN 7 Wines isn't just about crafting wines; it's about building connections. From weddings to holidays, our wines have been part of your cherished moments for generations. Your unwavering support and commitment have inspired us to even reformulate and relaunch retired wines—because your stories are intertwined with ours.

So, whether you're a connoisseur seeking exceptional wines or someone looking to be a part of a legacy that spans centuries, join us at GEN 7 Wines. Experience our heritage, taste our history, and be a part of our story—because every sip encapsulates the essence of our family's wine journey.

Cheers to the past, present, and future entwined within each bottle of GEN 7 Wines.
